Rosa Parks

Here is another Summer Learning Journey post for Day 2 Week 2 Activity 3 year 6-8. For this task I was told to consider a problem that black men and woman faced and I had to write down what Rosa Parks did about that. I also had to write what other people thought of it. What I found hard while making this post was finding key things about what Rosa Parks did. Here is my post about Rosa Parks!

  1. Good afternoon Sophie,

Thanks for sharing what you learned about Rosa Parks. I like the design of your post as well, the purple in the title matches the purple Rosa is wearing in the photo, very cool!

As you have discovered, racial segregation was a huge issue in the United States during the 50s and 60s. Can you imagine what it would be like to be told you couldn’t sit or stand where you wanted to?

Rosa’s actions helped to end racial segregation in America. It’s pretty crazy how one small act helped to create so much change. It’s a good message isn’t it, that we should always stand up and fight for equality.

I am very impressed with your blogging Sophie, how are you finding the Summer Learning Journey this year?

  2. Thanks for the great comment, Beren! I would hate to be told where I couldn't sit or stand how could they have lived through those times? It just shows how one little thing can change the world! I am loving it! Last year I was really not interested in doing posts but I am really getting into the SLJ this year!
