Neil Armstrong Poem

Here I am again for another Summer Learning Journey post for Day 2 Week 1 Activity 2 year 6-8. The thing I found challenging was finding the right words for my poem. But it was cool how we got to do any kind poem we wanted! I had to write a short poem thinking I was Neil Armstrong ( the first person to set foot on the moon) and I had to write how it would feel. Here is my Acrostic Poem.

The excitement grew inside me
How I longed for this moment
Each of my parents cheered me on

Death gripped my mind
A risk I took
Yet I kept on going

  1. My name is Gabriel, and I am part of this year’s Summer Learning Journey team. I will be helping to comment on your amazing posts over the summer with Beren. It is such a wonderful experience to be able to read your blog. It’s great to see what you have done already!

Wonderful Poem! I really like how you have created an acrostic poem and linked it to how Neil Armstrong would have felt. Would you like to goto space one day? what do you think it would be like to walk on the moon?

It sounds like it was a very exciting time for Neil Armstrong in space, I especially like how you talked about how scary it was, but how Neil persevered towards his goal! Great work.

One way to make our poems really pop is to include pictures so that us readers can visualise what you are writing about, just something to consider for next time!

    Keep up the great work!

  2. Thanks for the great comment, Gabe. I will remember to do that next time. I would love to go to space to explore the universe. It would be like a trampoline world I reckon.

    1. Hi again Sophie!

Yes, like a trampoline space would feel like you are constantly moving because there is no gravity! I hope you are enjoying your holidays, are you doing anything exciting for them?

      Keep up the great work!
