This is my first Summer Learning Journey post and I am SO excited to be settling down and getting into a routine. I have finished the post for 20th January 2021. This activity was all about pixel art. The first instruction given was to read about how digital images work and then I had to watch a video explaining what pixels actually are. Then I had to go on a website called Pixel art maker. Then, since it's summer I had to draw some pictures of things that relate to this holiday season. After that I had to post it on my blog and make a description of the drawings. Many of you may be familiar with the Pixels movie but, Pixels are actually things that have to do with screens and pictures! Which I will explain to you in the next post. It was pretty hard to draw free hand on a computer especially while drawing the wave. I have drawn a strawberry flavoured ice cream with a waffle cone and rainbow sprinkles, a palm tree and a wave with swirls inside it to get the New Zealand feel.
I was a student at Awahono School in Greymouth and this is where I shared my learning.

My Christmas List
On the second to last day of school our teacher gave us a challenge. It was to find pictures of 10 things that reminded you of Christmas. I found it pretty hard to think of ten things when we were doing the task so I went back and finished it. If you can think of things that remind you of Christmas please write them in the comments below. Here are my 10 things!

What We Eat
Do you know what is in the packet food you eat? We had a lady come to Awahono School and teach us about the ingredient blurb on the back of food packets. She taught us about how much fat, sugar, dietary fibre and sodium/salt your supposed have in a healthy packet of food to make it an everyday food like Weetbix. Then we had to make a google drawing explaining that.
