My Tapa

Here is another Summer Learning Journey post for Day 4 Week 4 Activity 2 year 6-8. For this task I was told to make a Tapa Cloth Design and I had to draw or make it myself. Then I had to write about what each thing represents. I did my Tapa on New Zealand! What I found hard while making this post was finding things to represent. Here is my post about My Tapa.

  1. Hi Sophie

This is a great photo of your tapa cloth that you have created. Well done. I really like how you have put a lot of thought into what to put on it. Everything represents New Zealand as a nation really well. You have thought about all of the aspects. Sport, food, animals and native ferns.

This would look really nice made up into a woven tapa cloth.

In the Pacific Islands they use these for special occasions such as weddings and funerals. They mean a lot to the people they are made for.

Well done for creating this one Sophie.

    Until next time

    Allie :)

  3. Hi Sophie

Thanks for asking, but No I haven't tried to make my own Tapa cloth. If I did make one I would put things like my family, pets, flowers, coffee cup, books, on it.
I am not very good at drawing but would try and use another form of art.

Hope your holidays are going well!

  6. Thanks for the nice comment, Hannah! Yep, I will do that next time! I picked them because they are all things that NZ likes but I should have added the Kiwi Burger from Mc Donald's! :)
