48 Hours
In the Autumn holidays we had to do the learn, create, share challenge and our task was to make a book review. We had to choose a book that we finished in the holidays and liked to read to reread. My book was called 48 Hours The Medusa Curse by Gabrielle Lord. The success criteria was to add an illustration, the title of the book, written correctly, the author of the book, written correctly, I have used descriptive language to help engage the reader, a brief description of what the book is about and to post it on my blog. Please tell me if I have used all of my success criteria! Here is my 48 Hours book review!

The Last Straw
Our class is going to be working around our new topic for the next two weeks which is Anzac Day and this is our first activity. We had to write a three piece poem about what one of the soldiers in the picture felt or saw when they were at war in the drench. I have written about the man standing up holding a gun upright with a hat on it. Here it is!
The days grow long, as we fight for freedom
thinking about the past, and the future
as I remember the happy times, with peace and love
the times of war nightmares hit me
This is the end of my story
although they will remember me
I will live in their hearts forever
for I fought for their lives
The war has ended
even though the poppies still grow
in the field where the dead lay
Anzac day is on its way

Wild Jungle Writing
We have been doing some activities around our topic: The One and Only Ivan. Our class had to write about what we are going to have in our wild zoos. The animal we had to make it for was a gorilla, so we can't write about a wild zoo with water everywhere because that is not the right habitat for him. Here is my wild zoo writing.
WILD JUNGLE
In my wild jungle I will have gorillas, natural toys/tools, trees, shade/shelter, mud, fencing and land for miles.
Natural Life
I will have natural toys and tools that the gorillas can use like sticks, mud, vines, leaves and bark. They will not need to feel uncomfortable or unhappy because they will be feeling like they are at home living their natural life. My jungle will have fencing for miles and will give enough for the gorillas to explore their home and find new whereabouts. The land will be protected and no humans nor animals will be able to get inside but the gorillas can not get out.
Display
My jungle will not have to be crowded by thousands of people but will give a whole lot of privacy to the gorillas. We don’t need to watch them every minute of their lives because the gorillas need to feel as if they are back home not in a prison display. If we can’t make this masterpiece, gorillas could try virtual reality so they can feel like they are in the gorilla enclosure but they aren’t. If people still want to catch a glimpse of a gorilla we could try to put hidden cameras around the wild jungle so that they can still see them up close. We have so much technology now that we probably could just leave them alone because we can just look up on the internet what they look like and then you will get the whole picture.
Shelter and Feeding
My wild jungle will have trees for shade and shelter not any inside parts. All of the vegetation will do its job by giving the gorillas some shelter. We don’t need to put any little huts or inside parts because if we do that the gorillas will think they are in paradise and when we release them they will not be able to survive because they aren’t used to relying on themselves.
If you have been to some zoos you might have seen some people feeding the gorillas their food but in my wild jungle I will let them get their own food and survive on their own. The termites will come on their own and the fruit they will have to find. We might grow some fruit trees in the jungle because they can’t just grow them themselves but we are still not feeding like their special or looking after them.
In my wild jungle I will have shelter and food for the gorillas, they will not be put on display and the gorillas will live a natural life.
My Wild Jungle
In room five we have been making dioramas around our topic: The One and Only Ivan. We had to make a wild zoo that gorillas can live in, be safe in and be happy in. I wanted it to be the size of New Zealand and to be bush for miles. Although it is wild the gorillas still need to be fenced in but will have a much a bigger home. It also had to be presented in a screencastify. Here is everything about my wild zoo!
